Commercial Lines / Independent Brokerage

Nobody reads
the policy until
the claim hits.

Boggs Advising Group places commercial coverage around how your business actually operates. Real exposures, named carriers, and terms explained before you sign them, not after a loss.

Where policies fail

Most businesses are underinsured in ways nobody flagged.

Not because the owner was careless. Because the policy was written off an application instead of an operation.

01

The business grew, the policy didn't

New trucks, new payroll, a second location, a bigger contract. Limits set three years ago do not cover the company you run today.

02

Misclassified payroll

Workers' comp priced off the wrong class codes either overcharges you every month or leaves a claim exposed. Both are expensive.

03

Contract requirements nobody checked

Additional insured status, waivers of subrogation, and minimum limits are buried in the contracts you already signed. Missing one can void the job.

04

Exclusions found after the loss

Cyber, flood, employment practices, professional services. The gaps are rarely obvious until the claim is already denied.

Lines we place

Coverage for the risk you actually carry.

Placed across multiple carriers and structured around your operations, payroll, and contracts.

05 / Emerging

06 / Excess

Umbrella & Excess

Limits layered above your primary policies when one large claim could end the business.

07 / Services

Professional Liability (E&O)

Claims of negligence, errors, or omissions in the services your business delivers.

08 / Contractual

Surety Bonds

Contract, license, and permit bonding for public and private work.

Who we work with

We know these operations cold.

Specialization is not a marketing line. It means knowing which endorsement matters before the underwriter asks and which exclusion kills a claim in your class of business.

01

Real Estate Investors

Builders risk, fix and flip, and 5 to 100 unit buildings. Vacancy provisions, renovation scope, and course of construction gaps that standard landlord policies never contemplated.

Builders Risk / Property / GL / Umbrella
02

Homeowners Associations

Master policies, D&O for the board, and the fidelity coverage your governing documents require. Where the association's policy ends and the unit owner's begins, in writing.

Property / GL / D&O / Fidelity / Umbrella
03

Property Management

E&O for the management function, plus the certificate tracking and additional insured requirements buried in every management agreement you sign.

E&O / GL / Property / Crime
04

Contractors & Trades

General and artisan trades. Additional insured status, waivers of subrogation, and completed operations written to match the contracts you actually signed.

GL / Workers' Comp / Auto / Tools & Equipment / Bonds

Snow and ice carries slip and fall exposure most carriers price badly or decline outright. Hold harmless language in your service contracts gets read before we place it.

GL / Auto / Workers' Comp / Inland Marine

E&O / Cyber / BOP / Workers' Comp
09

Product liability, stock and equipment values that keep pace with inflation, and transit coverage for goods that spend time on the road.

Product Liability / Property / Inland Marine / Auto

Not on this list? Call anyway. If it isn't a fit, we'll tell you that instead of wasting your renewal cycle.

How we work

Three steps. Repeated every year you grow.

01

Assess

We walk your operations, contracts, and payroll to map where exposure actually sits, not just what a standard application asks for.

02

Place

We shop the risk across carriers and bring back options with the trade offs stated plainly, not just a premium number.

03

Manage

Coverage is reviewed annually against real growth, so it never quietly falls out of date between renewals.

About

Business owners deserve an advisor, not a policy salesman.

Boggs Advising Group is an independent commercial insurance brokerage. We work on behalf of the business owner, not a single carrier, which means shopping the market honestly, explaining coverage in plain language, and being reachable when it counts: at renewal, after a loss, or when the business changes shape.

We work with real estate investors, homeowners associations, property managers, contractors, restaurants, professional services, and the trades that serve them. Owners who want someone who understands the operation, not just the application.

Meet the team

One name on the door. Twenty years behind it.

Kevin Boggs founded Boggs Advising Group after close to two decades in insurance, writing both personal and commercial lines.

That range is the point. Most business owners' risk doesn't live in one clean box. An investor with eight rental units is carrying a personal umbrella, a commercial package, and a builders risk policy that all have to work together, not against each other. A contractor's truck, home, and general liability sit in three different files until someone actually looks at all three at once. Kevin has spent his career on both sides of that line, which is what lets him see the whole picture instead of just the slice in front of him.

Before founding Boggs Advising Group, Kevin built and grew an independent agency into one of the largest in its network across the Midwest. This brokerage is what came next: commercial risk only, independent of any single carrier, with every account getting a named advisor instead of a queue.

"I've read enough denied claims to know they almost never come down to bad luck. They come down to a policy nobody looked at closely enough. That's the whole job."
